THERMOELECTRIC PRODUCTS

Thermoelectric generators are utilized in off-grid, special applications such as powering remote pipeline process monitoring stations, remotely located navigational aids and spacecraft operating beyond earth’s orbit.  The list below on the right indicates potential customers in this area

Thermoelectric Converter Replacement Opportunity

Among the primary selling features of thermoelectric products are:

  • Extended periods (years) of operation without maintenance or service;
  • Absence of acoustical and electrical noise;
  • Scalability from millimeter-sized devices to meter-sized arrays;
  • Low maintenance cost;
  • The ability to use any source of heat available;

These generators are currently very costly and have very low conversion efficiency. ENECO’s solution is to replace the power converter with its Thermal Chip, which has a much greater efficiency and is a dramatically cheaper solution.  The table below demonstrates the improvement in performance these thermoelectric generators can achieve simply by using the ENECO Thermal Chips.

Product Acquisition Cost ($/Watt) Operation & Maintenance Cost ($/Watt) Power Density Watts/kg

The Company has identified the largest participants in the thermoelectric systems market as potential customers, and has strong indications that the performance advantages, coupled with reasonable pricing, will rapidly build market position.  The goal is to become the de facto standard, and the conversion technology of choice.  To stimulate early sales, production samples will be sent to systems integrators for their evaluation, and ENECO will work closely with customers’ engineering departments to provide custom packaging and configurations as needed.  The Company does not expect to compete with thermoelectric systems manufacturers but to capture them as customers.  In due course, ENECO may be asked for complete systems as the business grows.  The Company will select those applications and markets most suitable for maximizing sales and profits.

Most known technical developments in direct energy conversion are focused on improving thermoelectric performance, or testing unproven conversion concepts. Among thermoelectric developers there is no known potential competitor capable of comparable price/performance and no potential competitor (using any other technology), which has demonstrated conversion efficiency close to ENECO’s technology.  In the Power Mode, thermoelectric developments appear to have little possibility of producing improved converters with commercially acceptable lifetimes and price/performance
